The Nittany Valley Symphony Guild


The Nittany Valley Symphony Guild is formed to work in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the NVS in whatever capacities are necessary, including hospitality, sales, public relations, education, fund-raising and office support. The Guild's goals are to assist the board with development, to expand the Symphony's audience and to promote a broad public appreciation of music.


Membership

Membership is open to everyone. 
The annual membership dues are $30.00 per person.

Ann Keller Young Soloist Competition

Each year the Guild sponsors a competition open to students grade 9-12 from Centre and adjoining counties.

Jeannette "Ann" Keller, founder of the Nittany Valley Symphony, Concertmistress of both NVS and Altoona Symphony for many years, passed away Saturday July 3, 1999. She was 82 years old. Ann founded the Nittany String quartet in 1967 and worked with many musical groups in the area since then. Her active spirit evoked the yearly NVS award in her name, The "Ann Keller Young Soloist Competition".
