Diane Gold-Toulson
Diane Gold is a member of the music faculties of
Bucknell University and
York College,
as well as the
Music Academy
in
State College,
Pennsylvania.
Trained under Joseph Mariano at the
Eastman School of Music,
from which she received a Bachelor of Music degree,
she also holds a Master's from Columbia University.
An active recitalist, performing throughout the USA and Europe,
she has given masterclasses in the Southwest, Philadelphia area,
in the Netherlands, and most recently at Oxford University in England this past summer.
Her concert appearances include Carnegie Recital Hall,
the Lincoln Center Library, and Avery Fisher Hall in New York,
the National Gallery in Washington D. C.,
the Academy of Music Ballroom in Philadelphia,
as well as tours of the Netherlands, Czechoslovakia (now, the Czech Republic),
and Switzerland. A twenty year member of the Huntingdon Trio,
she has recorded an LP and two compact discs, and been involved in over 40 commissions.
She has appeared extensively with the Amado String Quartet,
the New Philadelphia String Quartet, and the Alard Quartet.
In the spring of 1994 she toured Arizona with concerts at the Tucson Flute Club,
Arizona State University, and the University of Northern Arizona.
In 1995, as a member of Duo Concertante, she completed a concert tour of
Germany and Switzerland with pianist Hanni Schmid-Wyss.
Last March they toured northern California.
In addition to her extensive performing career,
Ms. Gold is a reviewer for Flute Talk magazine,
former chairman of the Newly Published Music Committee for the
National Flute Association, and currently chairman of the
Masterclass Competitions.
She has performed at Flute Conventions in Los Angeles,
Boston, Minneapolis, Chicago, San Diego and New York.
Diane Gold is principal flute of the Altoona,
Nittany Valley and
York
Symphony Orchestras in
Pennsylvania and has a Concerto appearance with the
Altoona Symphony in March 1994.
She is a founding member of the Easterly Chamber Players,
a chamber music group of wind, string, and piano performers.
